This little man doesn't need my business, I'm just in his way here He's so far from planet earth he can only stay a day here. But he was probably cool in high school, hell he might have been an artist. But right now he's got 20 dollars more of my money than he had before. And, sometimes I wonder what happened to the people I buy my drugs from. Plays in a band, can't pay the rent, too smart to get a real job. Not pretentious enough to matter to anybody outside the neighborhood. Now he's learning that supply and demand means you gotta sell more than your using. And he's a braver man than I am with 40 dollars more of my money in his hands. Sometimes I wonder what happened to the people I buy my drugs from. I was 25 years old, doing pretty good for myself. I had a good job, I was making good money the best of my life was yet to come to me. So why was in New Orleans kneeling down on the street? Well one man pointed a gun at me and the other man stole my money from me. Sometimes I wonder what happened to the people I buy my drugs from. Ran the sound for the band and drank a lot of beer at Rudyards. He had a cool british accent but not the green card to go with it. So he sold cocaine upstairs from his run down garage apartment I gave years of my life to that man and what I wouldn't do to get a couple of them back now. Sometimes I wonder what happened to the people I buy my drugs from. Lyrics by Greg Wood

While I got the guts let me get it out the things Inside all the raw nights drunk on whiskey and blind lust good times driving through the night with the headlights off I couldn't find myself how could I find you. I know so much is so wrong but I didn't know it then and I wouldn't change a thing if I could do it again I just wanted to give you back a few of the things inside. I can hear Paul singing about it unsatisfied unsettled life stories ringing true on a cold texas night yeah wild times feeling like satelites through empty space I couldn't hold onto myself how could I hold on to you I know it's no good now and I'll do what I can and I'll do what it takes to put it back together again I just wanted to give you back a few of the things inside. Well I got the guts let me get it out the things Inside all the raw nights drunk on whiskey and blind lust good times driving through the dark with the headlights off I couldn't find myself how could I find you. I know it's no good now and I'll do what I can and I'll do what it takes to put it back together again and I just wanted to give you back a few of the things inside. Way down deep inside Inside

No Heart 07:12
There's a hole in me we can pour some vodka in, everybody knows I've got no heart. I haven't shed a real tear in I don't know when, and everybody knows I've got no heart. A broken string, a feast of crumbs, everything just leaves me numb, and everybody knows I've got no heart. I don't need to beg, don't need anyone, if they want my attention they know where to come, and everybody knows I've got no heart. I close my eyes but when I open them I'm still here. I wish I could pretend to care, but I wouldn't know where to start. Everybody knows I've got no heart. I pace these wooden floors listening to Blood on the Tracks, and everybody knows I've got no heart. Imagine myself in a place where no one calls me back, and everybody knows I've got no heart. Put years of bad jobs up my nose, didn't know how to think, didn't know how to grow, everybody knows I've got no heart. But sometimes when the lights are off I feel connected to it all, and everybody knows I've got no heart.

Black girl named Rachel, just trying to relax I'm buying her suicides and scratching her back There's an american express card on the table on the bar And pretty baby keeps a tally of the damage so far I'm talking to a girl wearing a black eye patch I told her it turned me on and she tried to laugh Not without my charms in this nest of vipers Try to make my way through 22 screwdrivers. Now Rachel must weigh near 300 lbs. I said that's alright baby it's just more brown sugar to spread around Then she starts talking about her big black boyfriend I took my hands off her shoulders I could feel the conversation end Eye patch girl is so drunk she's swearing like a sailor and I can't think of nothing but how I'd like to nail her. Cause all you really need is just one good eye for A man on the verge of 22 screwdrivers

I have been touched by a wicked hand I have been touched and I don't understand wasn't jesus who touched me might be the devil cause I'm his man. I have been touched all the people say ?I have been touched the women stay away the people for a temptress and diamonds anyday well I'm his man? I have been touched all the people say I have been touched the women stay away I'll take a temptress with a blade than an angel anyday.

I wasn't young and I wasn't old I's just taking a breath and I was tucked down in the fold Life wasn't special, it wasn't real bad, but I took no pride in the little that I had. I looked at my kids ages 3 and 5 and I felt an aching I can hardly describe. It wasn't the money, it wasn't the time, but i felt something break in the back of my mind. I laid in my bed and I looked at my wife. I knew something was rotten I knew that nothing was right Yeah, I stared at the ceiling, I felt a weight on my chest, and I started laughing thinking 'bout "Daddy Knows Best" But I wouldn't know nothing just guilt and rot. My life consumed me and I was boiling in the pot. Now if they find me in a bar someplace well I'm an honest man I think I'll tell 'em to their faces. I tried to be decent but something just broke surrounded by smiles at the end of my rope. So take me away, give me your worst, I tell ya no prison is darker than a love you don't deserve.

about

Ambulance! Houston, Texas

After not drinking for a week, Greg Wood went to Leon's Lounge for drinks. Being unresponsive on the bar gets you an ambulance ride. He woke up mid ride and asked to be dropped off at home. The EMT's smartass reply, "This is not a taxi."
This moment was the birth of the band name.
Ambulance rose from the ashes of Houston's mid 90's band Horseshoe starring Greg Wood and his songs.
