After not drinking for a week, Greg Wood went to Leon's Lounge for drinks. Being unresponsive on the bar gets you an
ambulance ride. He woke up mid ride and asked to be dropped off at home. The EMT's smartass reply, "This is not a taxi."
This moment was the birth of the band name.
Ambulance rose from the ashes of Houston's mid 90's band Horseshoe starring Greg Wood and his songs.
